I arrived at a wet, cold, and misty Transition 4 (cederberg) around 11:00. Conditions seemed fierce for teams
as the mist made visibility difficult – complicating navigation for the teams to Trek over the Cederberg.
Myself and my grandparents (Team Member Beyers Rossouw’s parents) took the scenic route around the Mountain
to Wupperthal. We arrived in Wupperthal around two hours later, after a difficult 4×4 route through the Cederberg.
Team A2A arrived at Transition 4 between 15:00 and 16:00.
It is probably the first time I have seen them truly exhausted.
Joléne was in quite a bit of pain as she arrived – because her wound had to stay open it had gathered quite a bit of dust
through the remaining cycle. The medic on site managed to clean her wounds and checked her right shoulder as
she was complaining of some pain – but all is well.
The team proceded to pack their bike boxes so that they could get their Map and start plotting their trekking route.
Whilst taking some time to eat their hearts out. They took another three hour nap in preparation for the climb up to Sneeukop.
Weather predictions at this stage were cold, misty and wet.
Every teams gear had to be checked before leaving as the weather conditions would be brutal on the mountain.
